Review: This is the end (2013)

This is the end

endthis

Some crazy end of the world shit.

Imdb synopsis

While attending a party at James Franco’s house, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel and many other celebrities are faced with the apocalypse.

Director: Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen

Cast: James Franco, Seth Rogen, Johan Hill, Emma Watson, Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride

Duration: 107 minutes

Genre: Comedy

Watch if you like: 21 Jump Street, The Hangover, Knocked Up, The Green Hornet.

Aliens, dick humor and a lot of crass jokes. You gotta love ‘em in this movie with celebrities who play theirselves.

This is not a very intelligent movie, but that’s not what it was supposed to be anyway. A lot of dick jokes that’ll crack you up (or not), a lot of violence and some nasty scenes. The movie got boring after an hour, but “This is the end” is one hell of an original movie, I’ll give them that.

A lot of scenes got me laughing as well, even the last scene of the movie I thought was pretty funny. But I just don’t really like Danny McBride, and the scenes with him in it. James Franco is cool, though, and I like that Emma Watson takes on a whole different role in this movie. Seth Rogen is Seth Rogen, like he always is. And for Jonah Hill the same.

It’s a movie where your brain cells won’t get activated, and if you’re in the mood for that, this is perfect!

What did you think of “This is the end”?

My rating: 6 out of 10.

My favorite quotes:  “Hermione just stole all our shit!” and “We’re actors! We bring joy to people’s lives!”

My suggestion: For a laugh, you got to watch this. But watch it with friends, and maybe some alcohol too..
